Rochester Made Me.

David "D-Will" Williams was born to Davey and Cheryl Williams on November 25th 1983. Raised alongside of his younger sisters, Ashley and Kristina, his parents did everything possible to properly guide him in a way where he would be a successful young man. He was placed in private schools, the boy scouts, Mcquaid's "higher achievement program", Rochester's "youth build program" and the list goes on. You would've thought that this young man was gonna be an architect when he got older! Well things didn't go as plan, David found his way around the wrong crowd and became the stereotype of a misguided black youth. He began smoking weed in the 6th grade, turned into a stick up kid in the 9th, began selling numerous drugs by the 10th and dropped out of school before the 12th. He was involved in shootouts, grand theft auto, has been shot and even joined the Thurston Zoo gang.

Just when things looked as if they weren't repairable, a miracle took place! David found himself wrapped in the arms of grace. He repented of his ways and gave his life back to Christ. He from then on vowed to live his life fully surrendered to God's will over his life and to serve his community just as hard as he harmed it. In 2011, the #MOG movement was founded and lives have been changed through HOODPrayer, REFURBISHED, the Up From Under the ROC prayer walk all the way to simple car decals. D-Will's mission is simple: to teach the word of God through experience. He knows firsthand the struggles young men, African American males, face. He was the young man on the corner, he was the school dropout, and he was the non believer. With God's help and covering, D-Will hopes to use his own story as a teaching tool for those who may have never known God, or have strayed away. He strives to minister not only within the four walls of the church, but on the outside where he can truly reach out to those on their own road of destruction. I guess you can say that he did end up becoming that architect he was groomed to be, because he is building the Kingdom of God.
